Thanksgiving was our first holiday shared without our dad.
Only being a few short weeks after his untimely death made celebrating exceptionally
hard. Of course we all shared smiles and laughter, but we also shared tears. We
miss the jokes and the laughter he was always full of. We miss him playing with
the kids on the floor, playing cards and going through all the flyers page by
page. Shouting out all the good deals and making a list for Katie of items to
purchase in Watertown on Black Friday. Our time together as a family will never
be the same. No one can ever fill our father’s void so we do what we have to
do. We begin our new normal, and continue our old traditions.
